How to measure a box or folding carton.

It is important to be able to communicate with your client or vendor, the right orientation of a folding carton.
The dimensions are very important as there is a direct impact on the design, cost, usability and functionality of a carton.

Length x Width/Breadth x Height (LxWxH) is the correct way to communicate dimensions.

This is how it is read and written as per the best industry practices.

To understand this in more detail,
place the carton in front of you with the top flap opening upwards. Assume the carton is going to be filled from the top.

Sizes are written in millimeters or centimeters (mm or cm). It is very important to be accurate to the mm to ensure accuracy.
